Job description

Frieze is the world’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art, dedicated to artists, galleries, collectors, and art lovers alike. Frieze comprises three magazines – frieze, Frieze Masters Magazine, and Frieze Week – and seven international art fairs – Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze New York, Frieze Los Angeles, Frieze Seoul, The Armory Show, and EXPO Chicago. Legacy art fair brands The Armory Show and EXPO Chicago were acquired by Frieze in September 2023. In October 2021, Frieze also launched No.9 Cork Street, a permanent space for visiting international galleries in Mayfair, London.

We are seeking an Editorial Production Assistant to support administrative tasks related to the production of frieze, Frieze Week, Frieze Masters, and frieze.com.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Submit and track invoices in collaboration with the Content Operations Manager, and set up new payees in Endeavor’s finance system.
  • Add production deadlines set by the Content Operations Manager to the Publishing team’s shared calendar, maintaining a list of internal deadlines and ensuring relevant alerts and meetings are scheduled.
  • Set up meetings as needed, liaising with freelancers on scheduling.
  • Create to-do lists and layout folders for each issue and frieze.com, providing additional administrative support as required.
  • Publish each new issue of frieze on Shopify.
  • Manage printing of press cards and business cards, and organize the Publishing team’s post.
  • Maintain the archive in the London office.
  • Provide occasional administrative support for frieze magazine events, including sending invites, updating guest list spreadsheets, and passing queries from the events mailbox to the Publishing and Events Manager.
  • Assist with coordination of commissioned photography for frieze magazine as needed.
  • Create Spotify playlists for DJ in Residence.
  • Assist with proofing print publications and frieze.com where required.
  • Construct quarterly publishing updates.
  • Work closely with the EIC and other editors to build the Sunday mailer every Friday, along with additional mailers as needed.

Experience & Skills:

Mandatory

  • Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to manage varied demands and deadlines, prioritizing effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
