Job summary

Inspired Search & Selection is recruiting an aspiring journalist or recent graduate to start a career in B2B publishing from our Nottingham office. You will research, write and edit news stories, features and interviews for print and digital publications while supporting a member magazine and daily website updates.

You’ll engage in newsletters and audience initiatives, build industry contacts and attend events to gain insights.

Qualifications

• Degree in Journalism or related subject, or equivalent experience.
• Prior editorial/writing/publishing exposure via internships or student publications.
• Excellent written English with strong attention to detail.
• Genuine interest in journalism, publishing and current affairs.

Responsibilities

• Researching, writing and editing news stories, features and interviews for print and digital publications.
• Assisting with production of a membership magazine.
• Supporting daily website updates and digital content creation.
• Contributing to email newsletters and other audience engagement activities.
• Building relationships with industry contacts and conducting interviews.

What you’ll be doing

• Researching, writing and editing news stories, features and interviews for print and digital publications
• Assisting with the production of a well-established membership magazine
• Supporting daily website updates and digital content creation
• Contributing to email newsletters and other audience engagement activities
• Building relationships with industry contacts and conducting interviews
• Attending industry events, exhibitions and conferences to generate content and industry insight
• Working closely with the wider editorial team to help deliver engaging content for a specialist professional audience
• Learning about editorial planning, commissioning and content strategy

What we’re looking for

• Degree educated, ideally in Journalism, English, Media, Communications or a related subject (or equivalent experience)
• Previous editorial, writing, publishing or journalism experience through internships, placements, university publications or an entry-level role
• Excellent written English and strong attention to detail
• A genuine interest in journalism, publishing and current affairs
• Curious, proactive and eager to learn
• Comfortable speaking with industry professionals and building relationships
• Willingness to work primarily from the Nottingham office and be part of a collaborative team environment
