Job description

Here at BlueBolt VFX, we are currently looking for an Editorial and Data Ops Assistant to join our team. You will be involved in exciting projects, working on films and award-winning TV shows. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills and advance your career in the industry.

This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to monitor and control the rendering process, manage the render farm, and oversee data transfer requests.

We seek a responsible, self-motivated individual to help manage data flow in and out of BlueBolt while adhering to strict security policies.

Skills:
  • Team player committed to maximizing team and department performance
  • High computer literacy
  • Quick learner of new software, capable of on-the-job learning
  • Effective at managing and prioritizing workload and time
  • Accurate record-keeping and report generation skills
  • Scripting experience is a plus but not essential
  • Familiarity with Deadline render farm GUI
  • Experience with VNC and Remote Desktop services
  • Basic understanding of Maya and Nuke is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Linux systems is beneficial
  • Experience with FTP, SFTP, and peer-to-peer transfer platforms like Aspera and Signiant
  • Familiarity with Tape archive systems is a plus
Responsibilities:
  • Provide render support to artists
  • Maintain and assist with file structures according to production pipelines
  • Identify and resolve rendering and compositing errors
  • Collaborate with departments to keep production on schedule
  • Participate in problem solving and tool development
  • Manage data transfers using industry-standard protocols
  • Rename files to meet company standards
  • Coordinate with Production to ensure proper file placement
  • Handle physical media for clients and studios, including inventory and transfer
  • Prepare files for delivery according to specifications
  • Manage LTO archive and Presstore library
  • Assist with daily shot review sessions and overflow management
  • Support editorial tasks such as footage conversion and cut management
  • Verify shots against production requirements
  • Manage the editorial file system
