Working in partnership with the Creative Team and wider Marketing Team, the editor will ideate, develop, and deliver copy across the Sports Direct ecosystem. Guided by the Sports Direct brand strategy and tone of voice, they’ll be responsible for copy and content curation across sports and lifestyle, including football, running, training, outdoor, and USC.

This role involves campaign ideation, messaging, creating organic social content, and delivering copy for paid social, app/site, and CRM. The editor is the first point of contact for copy across Sports Direct and owns the new Sports Direct editorial platform.

This position is ideal for a sports-obsessed writer eager to join an energetic, creative team that values simplicity and quality work.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Interpreting creative briefs to develop concepts and execute them with the creative and marketing teams.
  2. Writing engaging social media content that aligns with the brand voice.
  3. Assisting in scriptwriting with directors and video teams.
  4. Interviewing athletes, influencers, and campaign subjects.
  5. Curating content for the editorial platform based on insights and SEO knowledge.
  6. Reviewing and editing campaign proposals for brand partners like Nike, adidas, Puma, and Under Armour.
  7. Creating disruptive OOH copy concepts for various formats.
  8. Updating website and company materials.
  9. Writing and editing internal marketing and communication content.
  10. Editing others’ work as needed.
