Job Purpose

This is a senior editorial position responsible for taking over as Editor of Logistics Manager, a monthly B2B publication specialising in the supply chain and logistics sector.

The primary responsibility is overseeing the editorial direction and content creation to ensure the magazine meets its objectives and resonates with its professional readership. This includes researching, writing, editing and commissioning features; managing editorial production schedules; and maintaining high standards of editorial quality and accuracy.

You will need to stay abreast of key industry trends, develop ideas for editorial campaigns, and play a pivotal role in shaping the title's evolution across print and digital formats.

Ideally, you will have a background in B2B publishing within relevant industry sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Researching and writing editorial features, including interviews with industry leaders and sourcing images
  • Writing daily news for print and online, with comment, image sourcing and fact-checking
  • Contributing to the editorial direction across print, digital and multimedia channels
  • Approving and signing off editorial newsletters across varying frequencies
  • Monitoring performance metrics such as page views, engagement rates and newsletter open rates
  • Flat planning, sub-editing, cutting to fit, proofreading and approving editorial pages for print
  • Researching topics, sourcing speakers and moderating webinars
  • Collaborating with our conference producers on agendas and hosting sessions
  • Attending and reporting on exhibitions, conferences and award ceremonies
  • Creating and managing the magazine’s social media output
  • Contributing to newsletter and SEO strategies to support digital growth
  • Representing the brand at industry events and roundtables
  • Supporting editorial planning and promotion of the Supply Chain Excellence Awards
  • Collaborating with commercial and marketing teams on sponsored content and editorial partnerships
  • Supporting the creation of multimedia content including video interviews
  • Education: Degree in journalism, communications or a related field
  • Experience: Strong background in journalism, preferably in B2B publishing
  • Editorial expertise: Impeccable writing, editing and grammar skills
  • Communication and research: Ability to communicate technical topics clearly to a professional audience
  • Organisation: Skilled at managing multiple deadlines with a high attention to detail
  • Production knowledge: Experience in flat planning and editing publications
  • Technical: Proficient in MS Office, Adobe InDesign and Content Management Systems
  • Digital awareness: Familiarity with social media and SEO best practices
  • Analytics: Confidence using performance metrics to inform content strategy
  • Industry knowledge (desirable): Understanding of supply chain and logistics sector
