Taylor & Francis in the United Kingdom is seeking an Editor for PeerJ Computer Science to guide manuscript assessment, oversee complex peer reviews, and advise on editorial standards. The role involves coordinating the Editorial Community team to recruit and manage an Editorial Board, and collaborating across departments to drive growth and open research.

You will participate in strategic development with the Chief Editor, conduct ethical investigations as required, and represent the journal at

Competenze

• An advanced degree (minimum PhD, but ideally postdoctoral)
• Excellent English comprehension and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Good analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, contribute to building a positive team spirit and support everyone’s efforts to succeed.
• Knowledge of the academic publishing industry.

Mansioni

• Provide guidance to manuscript assessment team and manage complex peer review issues.
• Recruit and manage Editorial Board Members; vet, train and maintain communication across diverse subject areas.
• Advise on scientific and editorial standards.
• Contribute to journal policies updates and improvements to Scope, Editorial Policies, and Author Instructions.
• Promote manuscript submissions through targeted journal promotion and outreach efforts.
• Oversee full peer review process when an academic editor is unavailable, ensuring timely, high-quality reviews.
• Represent the Journal at conferences to promote PeerJ- Computer Science and open research initiatives.
• Support content commissioning and drive journal promotion.
• Collaborate with the Chief Editor on strategic development of a robust journal program.
• Implement process improvements to improve KPIs for the peer review process.
• Foster collaboration with Editorial Community and Desk Editor teams.
