IQM Quantum Computers is opening an R&D site in Edinburgh, UK, and this is the first hire. You will build the site from scratch, recruit initial engineers and scientists, and establish the culture and ways of working that will scale with the team.

You will lead technical work at the interface of IQM systems with HPC environments, drive real-time decoding and control-stack integration, and manage the day-to-day partnerships with the UK HPC centre and QEC partner.

Formación

• 5+ years leading R&D teams, including building from scratch.
• Deep quantum computing background with experience in QEC or hardware.
• PhD in physics, electrical engineering, CS, or equivalent.
• Strong communication with technical partners and leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Build the site from zero, set up ways of working, tools, IT and access; recruit and line-manage first engineers and scientists.
• Lead the technical work: integrate IQM systems with HPC environments and real-time decoding.
• Run the UK partnership day-to-day with the HPC centre and QEC partner; manage plans, meetings, benchmarking and IP/data agreements.
• Own the program delivery with budget and forecasting, delivering progress reports and milestones.
