Job description

The University of Manchester is seeking to appoint two Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility (EDIA) Project Officers to support the School of Engineering and the School of Natural Sciences in fostering an inclusive and diverse working environment. These roles provide operational support for EDIA initiatives, ensuring progress aligns with the School, Faculty, and University’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities include supporting Athena Swan submissions, the University’s Race Equality Charter, engaging staff in EDIA development, and supporting diverse students' access and success. The roles involve working with EDIA Managers, collaborating with academic and professional colleagues, organizing events, attending strategic meetings, and advising on EDIA best practices. Communicating the impact of these initiatives is also key.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A well-developed, intersectional understanding of EDIA, especially within higher education.
  • The ability to collaborate across projects related to racial equity, gender equality, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and disability accessibility.
  • Experience engaging diverse stakeholders and fostering an inclusive, curious approach.
  • Ability to analyze data trends and interpret their implications.
