Your newpany

Due to their partnership, Hays are working on behalf of Birmingham Children's Trust in recruiting for an Edge of Care Project Worker. The purpose of BCT is to make a positive difference for children, young people and families in the city, by driving up the quality of practice and partnerships across the city and its services.

Your new role

This role is a full-time, long-term position working with young people and their families, where the young person is at risk of being placed into care. You will provide a flexible crisis response service to young people and their parents or carers, promoting and safeguarding the development of the child/young person. The maximum caseload you will have at any given time is 6 families.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you need at least 2 years' experience working with children, young people, and their families. You will work closely with families, colleagues, and external agencies, so collaboration skills are essential. As you will manage a caseload, effective time management and task prioritization are required. The role is mainly Monday-Friday, with occasional requirements to work outside these hours, so flexibility is necessary.

What you'll get in return

You will be paid a competitive hourly rate and have a guaranteed long-term position, with further opportunities for permanent employment. As a Hays contractor, you will have a dedicated consultant supporting you throughout the recruitment process and your work. You will also have access to our training platform, allowing you to undertake free online training to enhance your skills.
