East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic individual for two part-time School Support Co-ordinator positions. The role involves providing administrative and financial support to primary schools, requiring flexibility and a mobile work style. The successful candidate will manage budgets, recruitment, and liaise with various departments. A good standard of education and experience in finance or administration is essential.
2 x 17.5 Hour posts - 1 Temporary & 1 Permanent
Hours: 17.5 hours per week
Post 1 Week 1: 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Wednesday, one hour for lunch
Week 2: 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday & Tuesday, one hour for lunch
Post 2 Week 1: 8.30am - 4.30pm Thursday & Friday, one hour for lunch
Week 2: 8.30am - 4.30pm Wednesday to Friday, one hour for lunch
Location: Early Years and Primary schools of the Turnbull Cluster / Council Offices / Home

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated individual to join the School Support Co-ordinator Team within the Education Department. This position involves a mobile work style, including working from home, within Council offices, and at the Early Years and Primary Schools of the Douglas cluster. Reporting to a School Support Manager, your main responsibilities will include delivering administrative and finance support within the primary school clusters. You will advise and support the Head Teachers and other senior staff on complex financial and administrative management tasks.
Your duties will include monitoring school budgets to ensure financial commitments are recorded within established procedures, managing recruitment and selection processes, and line managing and training school office staff.
You will liaise with managers from other Council departments regarding financial administration.
Candidates should have a good standard of education and extensive experience in finance or administration, preferably within a school or education environment. An HND qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline is desirable. Travel between the cluster schools and your base is required.
This is not a term-time-only post. The position is subject to a PVG check.

The following criteria apply to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council requiring PVG/Disclosure checks: Successful candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a Scheme Update check before employment is confirmed. The cost of the check will be deducted from the first salary, and in some cases, in installments. If an employee leaves before full payment, the remaining amount will be deducted from the final salary.
