Job Overview
The post will be based in the community between the Two West teams. The exact breakdown of cover and location can be agreed upon depending on the candidate's preference and area of residence.
The post will provide medical support to the community teams on a full-time basis, working closely with current, SAS, and Specialist doctors.
The post holder will be encouraged to obtain and maintain section 12(2) approval of the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) and Approved Clinician status in Wales to participate in the on-call rota for MHLD and undertake assessments in the community, police custody, and 136 suites.
The on-call is 1 in 13.
Main duties of the job
This post will be based in the West area with clinical input into both community teams, as agreed with the successful candidate.
The post involves close MDT working with no individual caseload but providing medical input and reviews for those open to substance misuse services.
The post holder is expected to work according to the BCU substance misuse prescribing guidelines for inpatient and community sessions.
Clinical duties include liaison with neighbouring CMHTs, inpatient wards (psychiatric and DGH), support to the alcohol liaison service, and attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings.
The post holder should stay updated on clinical developments and participate in all relevant clinical programme group meetings.
