A leading company in the rail signalling industry is seeking a Signalling Functional Tester with experience on Network Rail Infrastructure. This site-based role involves functional testing, mentoring staff, and a mixture of day/night shifts. The ideal candidate will hold relevant certifications and have a thorough knowledge of testing requirements. Competitive salary and benefits including a work van or car allowance are offered.

Salary: GBP40,000 – GBP50,000 (DOE) + Work Van or Car Allowance
Location: South East
Shift Pattern: 40 hour week – 8 Week Rolling Roster, Days/Nights (60/40 Split)
Package:
25 Days per year (ability to buy/sell)
Work Van (work use only) or Car Allowance
Laptop, tools and equipment provided
Ongoing training and development to upskill and progress
The Role:
You MUST hold at least MOD3BI (Route Relay Interlocking Testing) or MOD4 LX (Functional Tester – Level Crossings)
This work is site based as such there may be a requirement to lodge away for extended periods of time and to work unsocial hours. You must hold a full UK driving Licence to be considered for this role.
This role will primarily be based in the south east of the country and will ideally be a candidate with a minimum of 3 years experience within the rail signalling industry, shift patterns are a mixture of days/nights with a 60/40 split
You MUST HAVE previous experience working on Network Rail Infrastructure, this role WILL NOT be suitable for someone who has worked solely on London Overground/Underground.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake the functional testing of relay based, legacy equipment and CBI interlocking and carry out testing trackside equipment.
Plan team's work and monitor and report progress to the Tester In Charge as required.
Raise and close out Test Logs in an efficient manner.
Assist the Tester in Charge in evaluating the testing resource requirements for individual tasks.
Act as signalling works Mentor for staff as required, including actively promoting their technical progression as railway signalling engineers, this position has several apprentices as part of the work.
Perform COSS duties.
Requirements:
Must Hold NR Certificate of Competency
Must Hold IRSE License 1.3.170
Must Hold NWR 3BI/4LX testing competency certification.
Must hold competence in Level crossings or have extensive 3BI experience.
Thorough and detailed knowledge of Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook. Appreciation and awareness of principles and systems testing requirements.
Full Clean UK Driving License
