About The Role

Location: The Horizon SARC, Birmingham and additional SARC locations within the West Midlands Region.

Bank Role

Salary: The payment rates for this role are a shift retainer of £30.56 Monday - Friday and £40.24 Saturday - Sunday, with an attendance payment of £47.55 per case.

Rota Patterns: 8-hour shifts over 24 hours, 365 days a year.

The role of Crisis Worker is vital in providing victims of sexual assault with dedicated support and care. Acting as an advocate for patients, you will empower service users to feel in control and support them through forensic processes to manage their care pathways.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for service users.
  • Support service users and their families visiting the centre, including preparing the patient and assisting in the collection of forensic evidence.
  • Maintain high standards of DNA anti-contamination between forensic cases (cleaning).
  • Assist patients and liaise with other agencies regarding the management of the service user pathway.
  • Support and advocate for service users during their time at the SARC.
  • Be a key member of the SARC team and the wider company network.

Essential Skills

  • IT skills and basic administration.
  • Experience in a supportive or customer-focused environment.
  • Kind and caring nature.
  • Understanding of confidentiality.
  • Applications are invited from females only due to the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner role, under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e.
  • A UK driving license and access to a vehicle are required, as travel across SARC locations may be necessary.
  • Advanced DBS and Level 2 Police vetting are required.
