Job description

Job Title: Lecturer in Mathematics

Type: Permanent, Part Time (0.9)

The School of Foundation, Intermediate Learning and Employability at Kingston College is seeking a Lecturer to teach GCSE Maths and Maths Functional Skills. The role involves teaching predominantly to students aged 16-19, with 2 hours allocated weekly for Maths Functional Skills classes.

You will follow our schemes of work and assessment schedules, setting at least one piece of marked work each week, recorded on Pro-Monitor. Responsibilities include preparing students for June exams, marking homework and mock exams, student monitoring, and curriculum development where appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills
  • A degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject
  • A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Excellent teaching skills in GCSE and Functional Skills Mathematics for students aged 16-19
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and passion for education
  • Ability to support, motivate, and empathise with learners
  • Proficiency in using new technologies to enhance teaching and learning
