The Role

Each Junior Account Manager is responsible for managing their own portfolio, developing and nurturing client relationships to ensure understanding, support promotion, and identify additional revenue opportunities. Responsibilities include day-to-day management of your portfolio, engaging with clients and intermediaries, managing renewal terms, negotiating renewals, liaising with intermediaries, affinity groups, and direct clients, providing excellent service, conducting review meetings via telephone, maintaining accurate CRM records, and negotiating renewal pricing. This is an office-based role, primarily via telephone, virtual meetings, and email, with occasional client visits.

The role offers excellent career prospects and a clear progression pathway up to Account Director. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, possess a professional attitude, and be capable of handling difficult conversations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of EAP, intermediary, and Occupational Health clients with contracts under £3,000.
  • Proactively managing client relationships to meet retention and renewal targets.
  • Achieving telephony KPIs.
  • Implementing new client setups.
  • Handling 40-60 renewals per month to achieve a 95% retention rate.
  • Providing consultancy on product options and specialist services like onsite training and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM).
  • Identifying opportunities for up-selling and promoting additional services, with a target of £10,000 new business per quarter.
  • Securing at least 3 new client wins per quarter.
  • Gathering client feedback to inform service development.
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service and support to the sales and bid teams.
  • Keeping personal renewal reports updated daily, highlighting at-risk clients and opportunities.
  • Providing weekly updates on renewals, activities, and outstanding tasks.
Candidate Requirements
  • Organized with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet objectives within deadlines.
  • Willingness to work towards targets and KPIs such as daily talk time, renewal rates, and call volume.
