Job title: SEN Maths / Science Teacher

Location: Hambrook School, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, RH15 8HZ

Salary: Up to GBP44,310 per annum depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

Work schedule: 4-day working week after a 3-month settling period

About the role

To provide a high-quality education service for our students in accordance with company policies, procedures, practices, and standards set by the Regulatory Body.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and teach individual students or small groups, following the school's curriculum framework and policies.
• Monitor, record, and report on student progress.
• Contribute to and help implement developments related to the school development plan.
• Promote the physical, educational, and moral development of students, in line with company policies.
• Develop and implement learning environments and programmes tailored to individual student needs.
• Coordinate teaching, assessment, and reporting across key stages as agreed with the Head Teacher.
• Create, review, and update individual education, behaviour, and other relevant plans in collaboration with staff.
• Organize classroom resources, student groupings, and displays to create a stimulating learning environment.
• Ensure student safety in line with risk assessments, both on and off-site.
• Brief and support Learning Support Assistants, Tutors, Instructors, and care staff as needed.
• Manage challenging behaviour to foster student self-control and development.
• Participate actively as a member of the school community.
