Job description

Due to our continuous growth at RSS Infrastructure, we are seeking SMTH Testers for signalling track renewals on the following routes: North and West Central and West Coast South, from Carlisle to Oxford and Milton Keynes.

The main body of work will start approximately week 30, for a minimum of 2 years.

This is a great opportunity for those looking for long-term work.

Duties:
  1. Lead and oversee track renewal work on signalling equipment in accordance with Network Rail standards and schedules.
  2. Perform fault-finding and problem resolution.
  3. Ensure compliance with safety standards and investigate system failures.
  4. Mentor and support the signalling team.
  5. Report issues arising during installation and renewals.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Signalling Team Leader with SMTH.
  • Full UK Licence with the ability to travel and work away.
  • Available to work nights and weekends when required.

SMTH Tester Requirements:

All SMTH testers, in accordance with SMTH, Part 1, Module 4, should be either competent or experienced and possess:

  • Core Skills (SMTH a)
  • Aspect Test (SMTH b)
  • Cable Function (SMTH d)

Desirable:

  • Diversion of a Circuit (SMTH f)
  • Points Testing (SMTH c)
