Job summary
Are you an experienced band 5 Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to step up into a band 6 position in Stroke or an existing band 6 looking for a change? If so an exciting opportunity has opened up for a band 6 specialist Occupational Therapist to join the South Nottingham Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS). This post is a 37.5 hrs permanent position.
Our established ICSS delivers rehabilitation into various community settings, currently between 8am-5pm, 5 days a week, including Bank Holidays. Weekend working may be required in the future.
The team offers full or part time roles, including flexible working which aims to achieve the right work-life balance, maintaining the wellbeing of our workforce.
This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the jobThis role requires day-to-day delivery of client care in our Integrated Community Stroke Service.
To use specialist clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis to support assessments, treatment and management of stroke survivors with complex presentations. To work closely with the MDT, communicate effectively with clients/carers and their families and supervise, teach and develop other staff as required.
Support our patients within the community to enable them to live their optimum life, being self-caring and independent with their health needs following a stroke.
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be adaptable, reliable, resourceful and approachable, evidencing high levels of personal and clinical credibility, being able to establish effective working relationships in a range of work settings.

This post will allow the successful applicant the opportunity to work within an integrated multi-disciplinary team, providing therapy to clients referred to the Community Stroke Rehabilitation services, including early support stroke rehabilitation.
