As a Biomedical Scientist in Blood Sciences, the post holder is responsible for processing laboratory tests on patient samples across various sub-sections of the laboratory in rotation. The post holder must be qualified and HCPC registered. They should apply the latest scientific knowledge and up-to-date methods. Competency in the routine maintenance and performance checks of complex analysers is essential. The role involves working as a valued team member, capable of functioning with minimal supervision, and deputising for senior staff as appropriate. Support and participation in the Quality Management system are required.
The successful applicant will join a team working in the Biochemistry section of the busy Blood Sciences Department at Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospitals, rotating between the two.
Responsibilities include following SOPs, preparing and storing reagents, manual procedures, validation of results, hardware and software troubleshooting, and QC/EQA activities.
