The Company

This is a great opportunity to join a chilled food manufacturer producing pioneering ranges for the major retailers. They are now seeking a driven NPD Manager to lead the development team and help them retain their reputation for high quality products.

The Role

This customer focused role will see you as the driving force from concept to launch. Working from set briefs you’ll ensure that new ranges are in line with customer requirements. Overseeing the NPD process, you will manage concept development in line with customer schedules and critical paths, co-ordinating factory trials to guarantee technical and commercial parameters are satisfied. As well as monitoring the progression of new ideas, you will also be refreshing the existing portfolio to make sure the company continues to outstrip the competition.

Proactive and resourceful in your approach, you will guide your team in identifying the latest food and consumer trends, communicating findings as appropriate to introduce an exciting offering into the marketplace. Finally, you’ll conduct presentations to impress prestigious customers with your knowledge and awareness of cutting-edge innovation, helping this rapidly expanding business achieve its ambitious commercial goals within the market.

The Person

We are looking for an NPD Manager who has a proven record of driving innovation within a chilled category, supported by a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. You will have previous success in delivering results from concept to launch. People management skills are also essential as you will be leading and encouraging a team to reach their maximum potential.

You will be comfortable working in a customer facing role, and draw upon your previous experience of managing key retail accounts. You will couple this with strong presentation skills, in order to build rapport with key stakeholders, all whilst communicating key information with passion and ease.

You’ll also have a penchant for spotting up and coming market trends with the ability to apply your research and translate your findings into workable products. This role would be perfect for a current NPD manager or a highly capable senior technologist, who has managed a team and is looking to up their game and face a challenge in the next stage of their career.
