Job Description:

This role is for a Graduate Aspiring Educational Psychologist based near Farnham. The position involves supporting children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and associated challenging behaviors within a specialist school environment.

The School:

The school caters to children aged 3-19 with various learning difficulties, sensory impairments, physical difficulties, or challenging behaviors. It features a Therapy Department with qualified Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists. Therapy is delivered through a blended model integrated across the curriculum, with close collaboration with staff and parents.

Role Overview:

This position offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring Educational Psychologists to gain practical experience and expand their knowledge by working closely with therapists. It is also suitable for future Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, and Speech and Language Therapists.

Professional Skills & Requirements:
  • Willingness to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Ability to plan learning activities tailored to pupil ability with teacher support
  • Ability to encourage social skills development and support individual needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capability to provide academic and pastoral support
  • Experience working with young people with special needs is desirable but not essential
