The Opportunity

We are currently hiring an Engineering Manager to lead teams within the R&D product engineering function.

As part of the engineering leadership team, reporting to the VP of Engineering, you are comfortable managing innovation, software development and delivery, coaching teams, you have an agile mindset, and a clear understanding of the business' bigger picture.

The Specifics

  • People leadership and management is a big part of this role. You strive to motivate and inspire your team
  • You will lead a team of 20-30 people, through a set of 3-6 autonomous scrum or similarly structured teams. You must have the ability to coach, motivate and lead a team to be the best they can be
  • You foster strong relationships with stakeholders, collaborating with cross functional groups to achieve the best outcomes for our customers
  • Performance is high, delivery is critical. You understand this and know how to bring your team along for the journey
  • While this role has no hands-on component, your strong technical background allows you to challenge your team during technical discussions from Unit Testing to Intensive integration requirements
  • The teams you support build strong bonds, challenge each other to inspire excellence, and support one another through the rough patches

  • Contribute through identifying/proposing local sustainable practices and ideas in accordance with our Sustainability Cha

What we're looking for (you don't need to be a guru at all, we're looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you):

To be successful in this role, you must have leadership experience and have ideally led a group of 20-30 people. You are a leader and are comfortable with managing software delivery, coaching teams, possess an agile mindset, and have a clear understanding of the business' bigger picture.

You have a successful track record of leading teams that build and release high quality products to market that solve real customer problems. You can drive change within the organization and foster a positive culture of continuous improvement and have a drive for continuous improvement.

You ideally have experience with a software product company that values agile principles and practices that are customer centric. Additionally, you have good planning and time management skills to meet our targets and delivery dates. Experience in the Energy/Utilities industry would be beneficial for this role.
