Our client, an established and reputable contractor within the rail infrastructure sector, is currently seeking a Rail Site/Sub Agent to join their team for various projects across Scotland. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate site operations across major rail infrastructure projects.
- Manage and deliver work packages involving piling, heavy and ancillary civils.
- Ensure quality, safety, and environmental standards are adhered to.
- Support self-delivery operations, including direct management of plant, labour, and materials.
- Interpret and deliver work from drawings and design documents.
- Assist with temporary works coordination, including development and implementation.
- Set out works using GPS and total stations.
- Engage in procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract services.
- Ensure timely reporting and document control, supporting project reporting requirements.
- Liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Support project planning and delivery using Microsoft Project.
- Maintain commercial awareness and support the site team in contractual matters.
- Drive project progress and innovation through active design development involvement.
Job Requirements:
- Qualifications: HNC or above in Civil Engineering (essential); Valid PTS/Sentinel Card, CSCS, and SMSTS; Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Experience: Previous experience as a Project Engineer or Site/Sub Agent in rail infrastructure; Proven track record in rail civils including piling, heavy civils, and ancillary works; Self-delivery experience managing direct labour and plant; Familiarity with temporary works coordination and development; Knowledge of quality assurance processes; Experience in material and plant procurement; Strong understanding of contractual and commercial elements
- Technical Skills: Setting out and surveying using GPS and total station; Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams); Experience using CAD software and Microsoft Project
