Our client is a practice of Geotechnical, Environmental, and multidisciplinary Consultants; they undertake site investigations, desk studies, geotechnical engineering assessments, and investigations of contaminated sites. The projects are nationwide and run from offices across the UK.

The duties will be developed through practical training, guidance, and direction, including:

  1. Undertaking desk study assessments of land for development, researching records such as historical, ordnance survey, geological maps, mining records, and ground investigation publications; including site reconnaissance where instructed.
  2. Writing desk study reports based on findings, advising on geotechnical constraints, potential contamination risks, and recommending further investigation phases.
  3. Conducting site visits for soil validation, groundwater sampling, gas monitoring, analyzing laboratory results, and reporting.
  4. Coordinating with statutory undertakers and service providers for ground investigations, mobilizing equipment, and securing site access.
  5. Attending site investigations to oversee fieldwork, record trial and boreholes, perform in-situ testing, and manage soil samples.
  6. Analyzing soil samples, preparing them for testing, and recording results.
  7. Preparing report appendices, including logs, site plans, history records, and testing data.
  8. Developing skills in factual and interpretive reporting, including site context, geology, history, and investigation records.
  9. Enhancing reporting skills to describe geotechnical constraints, impacts on construction, and proposing design solutions.
  10. Gaining expertise in ground contamination assessments, remediation strategies, and reporting.
  11. Communicating with clients, design teams, approval bodies, and other stakeholders.
  12. Assisting with project and office administration tasks as needed.

In-house training will be provided to ensure duties are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
