Brief Description
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing and evaluating the supply chain, reporting directly to the Head of Purchasing.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the four divisions of the Tricel Group: Water, Construction, Environmental, and Distribution to maximize buying efficiency.
- Understand, implement, and develop the purchasing strategy within Tricel.
- Source, select, and approve new suppliers for raw materials, products, transport, and services that enhance Tricel's performance, ensuring compliance with quality, legal, health and safety standards. Establish commercial agreements with suppliers.
- Continuously review, evaluate, and monitor the existing supply chain, suppliers, parts, products, and services to ensure high performance and compliance.
- Initiate and lead lean and continuous improvement projects with suppliers and service providers to reduce costs and stabilize the supply chain.
- Achieve target cost reductions through effective negotiation, benchmarking, and cost improvement initiatives.
- Reduce inventory levels, lead-times, and review lot sizes and delivery frequencies from local, European, and global suppliers.
- Monitor and review inventory classifications and data accuracy in Tricel’s ERP system.
- Address and resolve quality issues promptly with internal and external suppliers.
- Support the introduction of new products (NPI), collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to meet project milestones.
- Assist warehouse activities focusing on space efficiency, timely deliveries, proper documentation, ease of handling, and safety.
- Support the Finance department with invoice processing and reporting.
- Establish and maintain purchasing reports and KPIs.
- Report performance results to senior management, ensuring KPIs are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a buyer role.
- People management skills.
- Project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Knowledge of specific raw materials, volumes, destinations, and purposes.
- Understanding of specific end products and production processes such as batching and postponement.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- ERP experience.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience working to meet quality standards and legal compliance.
- Knowledge of modern supply chain principles, preferably with post-graduation certification.
