Job description

Brief Description

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing and evaluating the supply chain, reporting directly to the Head of Purchasing.

Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the four divisions of the Tricel Group: Water, Construction, Environmental, and Distribution to maximize buying efficiency.
  2. Understand, implement, and develop the purchasing strategy within Tricel.
  3. Source, select, and approve new suppliers for raw materials, products, transport, and services that enhance Tricel's performance, ensuring compliance with quality, legal, health and safety standards. Establish commercial agreements with suppliers.
  4. Continuously review, evaluate, and monitor the existing supply chain, suppliers, parts, products, and services to ensure high performance and compliance.
  5. Initiate and lead lean and continuous improvement projects with suppliers and service providers to reduce costs and stabilize the supply chain.
  6. Achieve target cost reductions through effective negotiation, benchmarking, and cost improvement initiatives.
  7. Reduce inventory levels, lead-times, and review lot sizes and delivery frequencies from local, European, and global suppliers.
  8. Monitor and review inventory classifications and data accuracy in Tricel’s ERP system.
  9. Address and resolve quality issues promptly with internal and external suppliers.
  10. Support the introduction of new products (NPI), collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to meet project milestones.
  11. Assist warehouse activities focusing on space efficiency, timely deliveries, proper documentation, ease of handling, and safety.
  12. Support the Finance department with invoice processing and reporting.
  13. Establish and maintain purchasing reports and KPIs.
  14. Report performance results to senior management, ensuring KPIs are met.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Candidate Profile
  1. Minimum of 5 years experience in a buyer role.
  2. People management skills.
  3. Project management skills.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Proficiency in Excel.
  6. Knowledge of specific raw materials, volumes, destinations, and purposes.
  7. Understanding of specific end products and production processes such as batching and postponement.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
  9. ERP experience.
  10. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  11. Experience working to meet quality standards and legal compliance.
  12. Knowledge of modern supply chain principles, preferably with post-graduation certification.
