Specialist, Event Security

Summary: The Specialist or Sr. Specialist will provide operational support and coordination between the event security team, event operations teams, and vendors, ensuring the safety and security of associates, attendees, and vendors at Gartner events. This role blends administrative responsibilities and event security operations, requiring a professional, organized individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong communication skills, a customer-centric mindset, and a commitment to professional growth.

Reporting Relationship: The candidate will report to the Sr. Manager, Event Security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate projects and tasks for the event security and operations teams.
  • Manage internal documentation and contribute to the improvement of program processes, tools, and services.
  • Assist in assessing and implementing security and safety standards for Gartner events, aligned with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.
  • Develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, venue security teams, and local law enforcement to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Support event crisis management planning and response activities, including responding to emergencies and documenting incidents.
  • Manage relationships with security vendors and monitor compliance with event safety, security, and service agreements.
  • Facilitate communication with clients, security personnel, and other stakeholders during event operations.
  • Contribute to the execution of VIP and executive security measures at events.
  • Validate that on-site security meets Gartner's established standards and assist in intelligence gathering and notification processes.

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with senior audiences.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree.
  • Experience in law enforcement, corporate security, or security risk management preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • Collaborative team player with a proven ability to manage resources effectively within a budget.

Special Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 35% globally and possess a current passport.
  • Availability to work evenings or weekends in support of events or security incidents.
  • Ability to perform routine security functions such as walking, climbing stairs, and standing at stationary posts.
