Job description

Addison Project plc are recruiting for a Construction Supervisor on a permanent staff basis to join our Thornton Cleveleys head office. This is an amazing opportunity for a Construction Supervisor who is looking to develop and further their career and move into a multi discipline construction management role within a growing team.

This role will enable you to further develop your current skills and experience as a construction supervisor. Working in the process sector with our skilled construction and health & safety team we will mentor and guide you, offering appropriate training, to ensure you have a defined career path to become a Construction Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Represent the company on process sector construction sites to organise, administer and control site activities in accordance with the relevant legislation, company procedures and client requirements.
  2. Be fully familiarised with the project requirements, policies and procedures and ensure that those requirements relating to the site operations are implemented on behalf of and under the direction of the Construction Manager.
  3. To ensure that Health, Safety, Environment and quality policies are understood.
  4. Promote Addison Project SHE policy (including environmental) to all contract personnel to encourage appropriate behaviour and consult them on all matters affecting their health and safety.
  5. Agree, establish and maintain effective communication and co-ordination between construction site and the design departments.
  6. Promote by demonstrating professionalism and efficiency, establishing credible local contact working relationships.

Skills and Qualifications Required

  1. Mechanical or Electrical trade background, ideally with an apprenticeship gained in the petrochemical industry.
  2. BTEC ONC/HNC/HND is desirable.
  3. NEBOSH General Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or SMSTS is desirable.
  4. Good understanding of construction industry quality standards and acceptable standards of workmanship and requirements.
  5. Working knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and guidance e.g. Health & Safety at Work Act and CDM Regulations 2015.
  6. Able to assess information, evaluate solutions and devise appropriate course of action.
  7. Good communication skills.
  8. Computer literate in basic Microsoft IT skills.
  9. Good observational skills especially relating to quality issues is essential.

Experience Required

  1. Construction supervisory experience working in a petrochemical or similar regulated environment is highly desirable.
  2. Must have significant/relevant experience of supervising construction related works (mechanical/electrical/civil/structural) including management of sub-contract labour.
  3. Experienced in the production of job specific method statements and risk assessments.
  4. Experienced in safety auditing, inspections, inductions and near miss reporting.
  5. Experience of permits to work systems. (Acceptor or issuer) (Training will be provided for a suitable candidate).
  6. Implementing/completing quality plans.
