FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Software Engineer to work for our client within the banking sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Bristol/Edinburgh.

Our client is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join their front-end engineering team to contribute to their ongoing digital transformation. You'll work in a flexible, collaborative environment on web, mobile, and tablet apps impacting millions of users daily. Your role involves writing modular, well-tested front-end applications that are easy to maintain and align with existing frameworks and practices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead code reviews and oversee technical delivery to ensure quality across front-end and back-end development.
• Own technical challenges and drive solutions efficiently.
• Resolve complex technical issues and bugs.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
• Advise on security, vulnerabilities, and PEN testing resolutions.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure high-quality products, in compliance with architecture and security standards.
• Implement best practices for software development.
• Manage tasks and priorities to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Maintain governance activities for technical assets owned.
