Job Description
Engage with legal and technical staff in the development, implementation and support of business and practice-facing technology. Support Project Managers and Solutions Architects in Practice Systems by responding to support queries, conducting data analyses of internal systems, drafting communications and support materials, and performing QA of various technology. Organize and schedule meetings, record meeting minutes, update team databases and OneNote notebooks. Interact with other technical teams to create SharePoint lists and web sites, initiate security reviews, and provide access to databases. Provide direct customer support to user population by conducting demonstrations, answering questions or escalating to the appropriate technology team. This role requires a blend of business analysis and project management skills to ensure successful implementation and adoption of legal and knowledge management technology.
Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:

  • Provide direct end user support for practice-facing applications such as iManage, SharePoint, DocuSign, knowledge databases, network file shares and other tools.
  • Work with IS teams to perform QA, troubleshoot technical issues, and address packaging issues.
  • Regularly engage with attorneys, paralegals and administrative staff to understand their business objectives, requirements and challenges.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the development and support of practice technology.
  • Provide demonstrations and training of new technology, facilitate, assess and respond to questions and feedback.
  • Analyze business requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and assist with the successful implementation of projects.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practice to drive innovation and maintain a high level of expertise.
  • Any other responsibilities or special projects as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience using all applications in the Microsoft Office suite, plus iManage, SharePoint, Acrobat and emerging legal tech.
  • Experience supporting legal specific applications in a law firm or corporate law department including working directly with all levels of legal staff.
  • Experience in fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with superior customer service skill and ability to analyze and propose solutions to technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and results-driven attitude.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear and concise functional requirements and communicate these to the IS technical teams.
  • Ability to manage and oversee the implementation of legal technology projects from inception to completion.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including IT, vendors, legal teams and the business to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to focus on details.
  • Experience conducting presentations for large groups of attorneys.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Education/Certifications:
  • Associates' or Bachelor's degree required.
  • Prior experience as an attorney, paralegal, knowledge management specialist, or a technologist supporting attorneys with an interest in legal technology.
