Academics Bristol are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to cover teachers’ PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time across all year groups, from Early Years to Year 6.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of class teachers, ensuring smooth and effective learning.
  2. Work with children across the primary age range, adapting to their needs and abilities.
  3. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  4. Collaborate with class teachers to maintain consistency and progression in pupils’ learning.
  5. Manage the classroom effectively to promote good behavior and engagement.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  1. A positive attitude and a commitment to supporting children’s learning and development.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills to build good relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  3. Confidence and flexibility to work across all year groups.
  4. Good organizational skills and the ability to follow lesson plans.

Desirable:

  1. HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  2. Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
  3. Knowledge of the primary curriculum and classroom management strategies.
