A School Engagement Assistant is required to join the UK Recruitment & Access department to support the University in delivering its ambition and strategy of widening access to education. You will be a key part of the widening access team, which has recently undergone an extensive strategic review, presenting an exciting opportunity to join the department.
You will actively engage with and deliver our re-developed schools engagement programme and support a broad range of access and articulation programmes. You will be part of a small team, working to support and ensure the smooth operation of wider access initiatives.

RESPONSIBLE FOR: No supervisory responsibility
PURPOSE OF POST: To assist in coordinating and delivering wider access programmes and developing the University's links with local partners such as schools and colleges.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Essential Requirements
Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of higher education and the remit of the Wider Access Department
Proficiency with IT packages (e.g., Word, PowerPoint)
Commitment to youth development
Ability to build positive relationships with young people across secondary school years
Experience
Managing and coordinating projects and events daily
Organizing meetings and preparing notes
Maintaining accurate records
Working with young people
Delivering presentations
Travel
Willingness to travel as required
Other
UK Driving Licence
Desirable
Experience or practice in a creative field
Service Delivery: Experience in adapting services to meet customer expectations and improving standards
Communication: Ability to convey clear and accurate information, including complex explanations
Initiative and Problem Solving: Using creativity and initiative to resolve issues with practical solutions
Liaison and Networking: Sharing information timely and working across teams to strengthen relationships
