Are you in the process of completing, or have you recently completed, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)? Are you ready to begin your teaching career in a school that values professional development, collaboration, and long-term growth?

Do you hold at least a 2:1 degree in a relevant Science subject—such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a combined science discipline—from a respected university? Are you confident in your ability to teach this subject effectively at the secondary level?

Have you gained teaching experience—through school placements, tutoring, mentoring, or other educational roles—and are you prepared to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons to students of varying abilities?

Science Teacher / Science ECT – Candidate Specification

To be considered for the Science Teacher / Science ECT role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Qualifications: Hold a 2:1 or higher degree in a relevant Science subject from a reputable university.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Have completed, or be in the process of completing, QTS.
  • Teaching Experience: Possess prior teaching experience, including placements or tutoring roles.
  • Commitment to Excellence: Demonstrate a passion for science education and a commitment to student success.
  • Team Player: Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Science Teacher / Science ECT – Job Role

As a Science Teacher / Science ECT, your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring that lessons are engaging, inclusive, and accessible to all students.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional learning through our comprehensive CPD programme.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science curriculum. Your insights and creativity will help ensure the curriculum remains innovative, relevant, and aligned with both the school’s vision and national standards.
