Job summary
South Tees NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a permanent consultant interventional cardiologist to join our team of 19 consultants. This role supports the 24/7 PPCI service and involves delivering ACS and elective coronary interventions at a tertiary cardiac centre serving Teesside, Durham, and parts of Cumbria and North Yorkshire.
We seek a dynamic, forward-thinking cardiologist to develop our service further. The successful candidate will join a friendly, dedicated team providing diagnostic coronary angiography, coronary intervention, and general cardiology care. Our department has a national reputation for high-quality care, offering comprehensive PCI services and engaging in active research. The role involves working closely with other Consultant Cardiologists and Cardiothoracic Surgeons at The James Cook University Hospital and with colleagues from referring hospitals.
The Tees Valley offers vibrant towns, picturesque villages, scenic countryside, and stunning coastlines, with the North York Moors National Park nearby. Excellent travel links allow London and Edinburgh to be reached in a few hours by train.
Applicants should have full GMC registration, MRCP or equivalent, and be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining their CCT at the time of interview. Evidence of sub-specialty training in PCI, including PPCI, is essential.
This is a full-time position (10 PA), but part-time applicants may be considered with modifications to job content. The position is initially offered on a one-year fixed-term basis.
