About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a proactive and motivated Secondary Teaching Assistant (Secondary TA) to join a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Gosport. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, including university students seeking classroom experience.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
• Work one-to-one or with small groups to provide tailored support.
• Assist in preparing and organising classroom resources and materials.
• Encourage positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Support students with diverse learning needs to ensure full participation.
• Monitor and record student progress under teacher guidance.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people as a Secondary Teaching Assistant is desirable.
• Ideal for university students studying Education, Psychology, or related fields.
• CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
• A positive, patient, and flexible attitude towards supporting diverse learners.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
