Aviation Recruitment experts Optime are searching for Immigration Hosts to join a well-respected and successful client in Gatwick Airport.
What's on offer:
- Position: Immigration Border Zone Host
- Pay Rate: £13.44 per hour
- Shift Pattern: Ad-Hoc shifts (25-50 hours per week)
- Weekly Pay
- Temp to Perm (performance based)
Example Shift Timings:
- 06:00am - 15:30pm
- 15:30pm - 1:00am
- 06:00am - 18:00pm
- 18:00pm - 06:00am
You must be flexible with your working hours and be able to work the above shift examples.
Your main responsibility will be to assist and guide all arriving passengers to present themselves to the UK Border as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Main Duties:
- Manual completion of each queue time onto the daily queue time report.
- The role will require you to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
- To assist and guide all arriving passengers ensuring they are processed through the correct channel depending on the document they possess or their port of last departure.
- To assist all eligible passengers on the electronic passport gates or through to the referrals desk where passengers are refused on E passport gates.
- To Identify and guide all passengers that require assistance down the Assistance Lane to get them processed by the relevant UK Border Force Officer.
- Continuous monitoring of the E passport gates which should not be left unattended at any time.
- Manage the barriers in the uni-feed ensuring they are pulled at the appropriate times in order to maintain the flow to the queuing system. Barriers should be undone when needed and extended when required.
- Support the Team Leader in any decisions or changes that are implemented.
- Provide feedback on operational issues and processes to help improve performance.
- Ensure that equipment provided is maintained, allocated and used correctly.
- Record queue times on the relevant queue time report.
- This role will also require any successful candidates to oversee the passenger foot flow in the check in areas, and ensure no trolleys are brought through to the ongoing car park project in the North Terminal.
Requirements:
- To be able to communicate with people at all levels
- To be of a pleasant nature and approachable
- To multitask and remain calm during busy periods of presentation
- Airport experience an advantage but not essential
- 5 years’ worth of satisfactory references to obtain an airside pass.
- The ability to work accurately under pressure
- A satisfactory criminal record check
