Job description

The Partner Office Partner Tax team (18 members) is seeking to recruit an Associate on a permanent contract, with supported study opportunities for ATT and CTA qualifications upon demonstrating suitability.

Team Responsibilities:
  • Handle the tax affairs of all firm partners, approximately 1 in total.
  • Primarily focus on compliance work, including preparing partners’ annual tax returns.
  • Address ad hoc tax queries related to capital gains, income tax, and financial reviews such as pension relief calculations, EIS deferrals, and elections.
Daily Tasks:
  1. Prepare accurate tax data inputs for partners’ tax returns.
  2. Gather and prepare information for review by senior team members.
  3. Manage workload, schedules, and action lists to meet deadlines.
  4. Take appropriate actions to resolve issues and ensure timely completion.
  5. Perform administrative duties using the online filing system (AODocs), maintaining Engagement Libraries and ensuring proper filing of emails and documents.
  6. Participate in team meetings, follow up on actions, and support the team with ad-hoc administrative tasks.
Candidate Profile:
  • Strong numeric and analytical skills, proactive, self-motivated, responsible.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for professional responses to partners’ queries via face-to-face, phone, or email.
  • Proficient in IT, especially Excel, Google Sheets, and Docs.
  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality and understanding of risk.
  • Capable of working under pressure and adapting quickly to change.
  • Effective team player, focused on delivering excellent client service from the partner’s perspective.
