Great news! We have a fantastic opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Department. We are looking for a dedicated individual to be a fundamental part of the Dr Oetker (UK) Ltd Laboratory Team. This role involves carrying out a wide range of analysis on raw materials, finished products, and environmental samples.

A career at Dr Oetker will provide you with an opportunity to:

1. Carry out routine analysis of raw materials and finished products according to written procedures, maintaining records of results, and reporting any non-conformances for trend analysis.
2. Assist with recording and investigating out-of-spec and non-conforming products.
3. Perform routine environmental monitoring, advise, and support the hygiene team with cleaning practices.
4. Conduct additional environmental monitoring such as air plates, water analysis, etc., and report any non-conformances.
5. Input data and results into the SAP QM system and all relevant databases promptly.
6. Prepare media required within the labs.
7. Register samples sent to external laboratories for analysis and monitor the results.
8. Ensure the safety, legality, and quality of all products and processes within the role's remit. Uphold the legal duty of care owed to employees and others.
9. Provide cover as needed for all four labs, including Microbiology, Chemical, Raw Material Intake, and Food Technology laboratories.
10. Support additional tasks as requested by the Laboratory Manager or Senior QA Manager to meet and support the Quality Assurance process.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Minimum 4 GCSEs in Math and Science subjects or equivalent qualifications in Microbiology and/or Food Hygiene.
• Work experience in a laboratory or food manufacturing environment, preferably in frozen food manufacturing or QA.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication skills (oral and written).
• High levels of accuracy and numeracy.
• Ability to interpret and evaluate results.
• Self-motivated with practical and data-driven mindset.
• Team player.
• Good organization and time management skills.
