credit secondaries.The role
The CIO Office is a critical team responsible for overseeing the firm's investment process, fund strategy and portfolio construction, portfolio monitoring and post-investment portfolio monitoring.
ESG and sustainability is encompassed within all these elements of the CIO Office and the successful applicant will join this team and will have responsibilities across all these areas, but with specific emphasis on and responsibility for ESG data governance, analysis and compliance reporting. This will mean acting as a business partner to colleagues across the Investment team, Investor Relations and the Finance department.
Given the evolving and increasingly integrated approach to finance and ESG regulations there will be an expectation to focus on ESG at the level of the funds but also the firm-level (corporate) ESG.
You will be expected to foster strong relationships with various counterparties and service providers to deliver for our investors. The details
The ESG & Sustainability Coordinator (Analyst) will encounter a broad remit, and this opportunity exposes you to a diverse range of areas across the platform to ensure you can maximise your strengths.
You will sit within the CIO Office, and the overarching emphasis of the role will be to provide support to ensure the full and proper integration of ESG factors within the investment management processes of the firm. The role also involves working across the wider business (as we adopt an integrated approach) and will include a monitoring/measurement component; Investor Relations support; thought leadership component; public speaking; Legal & Compliance support; and Operations (firm level) support. Emphasis will involve working collaboratively with our Investment Monitoring team to achieve common goals, as well as a number of other areas both inside and outside of the organisation, per the below.
Responsibilities will include:
Implement and enhance our ESG Policy and practices by working across the Firm (our "Three Pillars") within Investments; Investor Relations/Marketing; and Operations.
Investments.
* Support the Investment team (across all Coller offices) in identifying and assessing material ESG factors during due diligence on potential investments (with a particular focus initially on LP led fund position investments and credit books). Over time and with experience and on the job training there will be exposure to other types of secondary investments.
* Manage our portfolio monitoring and analysis via for example, those related to compliance with EU-SFDR, TCFD and CSRD et al.
* Collaborate with investment professionals and other relevant functions at Coller Capital to engage on ESG.
* Contribute to the development of Coller Capital's ESG Policy and programme development, and presentations.
* Identify and execute improvements in how Coller Capital integrates, enhances and promotes ESG across all investment types, and more widely within private markets and the Finance Sector generally.
Operations:
* Support colleagues in maintaining Coller Capital's compliance with existing Firm level obligations (e.g. ESOS, SECR, CSRD, Modern Slavery et al) and emerging ESG Policy/regulatory requirements.
* Support colleagues in maintaining Coller Capital's status as a carbon/climate neutral firm and work towards a net zero commitment.
Investor Relations/Marketing:
* Collaborate with Investment teams and Investor Relations to engage with LPs and other key stakeholders (e.g. UN-PRI, trade associations and NGOs) on ESG (e.g. Coller events, ESG Workshops, thought leadership).
* Support in preparing and delivering upon our reporting obligations including our annual ESG Report, TCFD Report, SFDR Reports and the UN-PRI annual reporting, et al.
* Maintaining and updating our database of GP and LP ESG contacts and service providers.
More infrequent work may be required and could include designing process improvements and efficiencies, and project work or initiatives which may see you collaborating with multiple teams across the business.

Essential experience:
Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Strong organisational and motivational skills, with excellent attention to detail
Very strong Excel skills and advanced financial and business modelling skills
Fluent (written and spoken) English
Desirable experience:
Experience in one of the Top 10 firms or within a PE firm/Asset Manager/Big 4 Accounting Firm
Familiarity with senior stakeholder interaction
Some exposure to ESG data management and relevant regulations such as SFDR, CSRD and TCFD
Experience in Business Intelligence / Data Analytics / Process Change
First time passes in professional qualification
A level Maths, grade A or above
2:1 degree or higher
Experience working alongside Administrators/third party providers
