Job Description:

Hawksworth is recruiting an IT Infrastructure L3 Engineer (specializing in Server, Hyper-V, VMWare, and Storage) for a London-based Investment Bank. The role involves working within a team that manages platform and infrastructure for front office electronic trading systems across divisions.

The position is based in the Liverpool Street area of London, with hybrid working requiring 3 days in the office per week. The contract is inside IR35, offering a rate of up to £625 per day, for an initial 6-month term.

Team members collaborate closely with core infrastructure teams, development, and business units, responding to requests, fault reports, and project work. A thorough understanding of eBusiness platform systems, including performance, capacity planning, monitoring, and infrastructure dependencies (such as market connectivity), is essential.

Some out-of-hours work is expected, typically one weekend in four, along with a shift pattern during 7am – 6pm.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong skills in the installation and management of Microsoft Windows Server, Clusters, Hyper-V, Active Directory, VMWare, HP Proliant, HP Storage (Alletra, Primera), Dell PowerScale, and Microsoft Security Patching and Vulnerability Management.
• Proficiency in scripting, especially PowerShell and Python, for administration and automation tasks.
• ITIL certification.
• Lean methodologies experience.
• Experience and insight into eTrading infrastructure, with the ability to drive project delivery within structured frameworks.
