Our care home, The Grand Care Centre, is a purpose-built facility in West Bridgford, Nottingham. It provides care for 82 residents with diverse needs, including residential, nursing, and dementia care. Rated GOOD by CQC, we prioritize safety, comfort, and high standards of care. We have a strong local reputation and maintain a 0 agency usage policy for over 4 years, employing a permanent staff team to ensure continuity and trust. All staff are paid at least the national minimum wage.

We are seeking a kind, organized, and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team. The role involves maintaining the buildings, equipment, and fixtures in safe, compliant, and good condition, ensuring the accommodation remains clean and attractive. The position offers a 40-hour contract with a competitive salary, working from 0800-1630, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility as needed.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular inspections and address maintenance issues.
  2. Report defects requiring specialist attention promptly.
  3. Perform domestic painting, decorating, and wallpapering as scheduled.
  4. Carry out minor joinery and plumbing tasks.
  5. Inspect and log defects, creating schedules for repairs.
  6. Prioritize and undertake additional tasks as required.
  7. Maintain up-to-date compliance documentation.
  8. Conduct Health and Safety and Fire Safety drills and training.
  9. Coordinate Legionella testing with consultants.
  10. Promote and safeguard the welfare of residents and staff.

Skills and Experience Required:

  1. Experience in plumbing, electrical work, joinery, or gardening.
  2. Specialist skills in a building trade are preferred.
  3. Ability to use basic tools and operate equipment.
  4. Full clean driving license is essential.
  5. Reliable with good communication skills with residents and staff.
  6. Experience in a care home setting is advantageous.
