Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a trained nursery nurse/ nursing associate to join our neonatal team at St Helier Hospital. We are a Level 2 Neonatal Unit and deliver all levels of care, including transitional care provided on our postnatal wards.

Responsibilities include:

1. Assisting in delivering safe and effective care to babies requiring Neonatal Special Care (SC) on the Neonatal Unit and Transitional Care (NTC) on the postnatal ward.
2. Communicating directly with Neonatal nursing and medical teams to plan care for babies in SC/NTC.
3. Acting autonomously to escalate concerns regarding babies' conditions to the Neonatal nurse in charge, working within agreed local guidelines.
4. Delivering health promotion and support to families to enable them to care for their premature or unwell infants.
5. Instructing, advising, and delivering parentcraft classes to parents/carers, including bathing, resuscitation, and safe sleep guidance.
