Overview of the role

As a lead consultant within the Data & Technology team, you will lead the development and automation of data solutions for clients. This hands-on role involves managing and delivering various client projects that aggregate data sources into a single view for both the client and EssenceMediacom. The marketing industry data is often incomplete, inconsistent, and stored in silos with access primarily through APIs and FTPs. It is our responsibility to help clients, both internal and external, who have their own reporting requirements. EssenceMediacom has invested in a technology stack based on GCP and PowerBI to adapt quickly to differing client needs. We seek a creative, experienced, and motivated individual to lead cloud engineers, serve as the core escalation point on projects, and implement engineering solutions for our clients.

Measures of success

In three months:

• Understand the Data & Technology team’s tools, techniques, and workflow within the wider agency

In six months:

• Build your network, lead 1-2 key projects, and suggest improvements to tools or processes

• Work directly with clients to sell in, lead, and deliver projects that advance Data & Technology

Responsibilities of the role

• Manage and contribute to the strategy for EssenceMediacom’s data management discipline, implementing best practices and latest technologies
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud solutions
• Bring consistency to data handling and schemas across clients
• Ensure data validation and consistency across media channels
• Develop and execute queries, validating data accuracy and completeness
• Translate functional specifications into technical designs for implementation
• Design and build data pipelines using cloud platforms
• Manage and provision cloud infrastructure
• Design for data security and compliance
• Automate ETL and deployment processes
• Manage cloud databases

What you will need

Essential

• Experience with GCP (certification advantageous) or other cloud platforms
• Deep knowledge in cloud migration, strategy, architecture, and engineering
• Technical depth in SQL
• Experience working directly with clients and managing stakeholder expectations
• Line management experience
• Experience with digital marketing and web analytics data
• Cost-effective cloud delivery expertise

Desirable

• Experience with dashboarding tools (Power BI preferred)
• Experience with Jira, Confluence
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams
• Experience with DevOps tools like Github/Gitlab
