Job Description A leading Top 15 accountancy firm is seeking a Corporate Tax Accounting & Compliance Manager or Senior Manager to join its dynamic and growing Corporate & Business Tax team in London. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a specialist team focused on delivering tax and audit services to the firm's largest corporate clients.
About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional with significant experience in tax audit assignments, tax compliance for UK groups, and interim tax reporting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and leading the firm's tax accounting and compliance offering for large corporate clients.
Working closely with partners and senior management, you will be responsible for managing tax accounting and compliance services while also assisting with tax advisory projects and business development opportunities. This role offers significant client-facing exposure, leading projects from initial engagement through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Accounting & Compliance Leadership
Manage tax audit assignments for large private and listed businesses.
Lead interim tax reporting and oversee complex tax compliance projects.
Work closely with partners and junior team members to deliver high-quality tax accounting and compliance services.
Support the development and expansion of the tax accounting and compliance function within the firm.
Client Engagement & Advisory Support
Act as a key point of contact for large corporate clients.
Oversee the preparation and review of corporation tax and deferred tax provisions under IFRS and FRS 102.
Review corporation tax computations, including group relief, Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR), and Quarterly Instalment Payments (QIPs).
Manage corporate tax compliance processes, ensuring timely submissions to HMRC.
Provide advisory support on areas such as the Substantial Shareholding Exemption (SSE), CIR, group relief, and consortium relief.
Business Development & Strategic Growth
Assist partners in identifying new opportunities, supporting tenders, and contributing to proposals.
Play a role in the firm's tax due diligence projects, collaborating with specialists across different tax disciplines.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage and mentor junior team members, supporting their professional development.
Provide technical training and guidance to the wider tax team.
Oversee the delivery of compliance and advisory services, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Requirements Skills & Experience Required
ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
Significant post-qualification experience in corporate tax accounting and compliance.
Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax, IFRS, and FRS 102 tax provisions.
Experience managing tax compliance and reporting for large corporate clients.
Strong business development acumen, with the ability to identify and scope new opportunities.
Advanced Excel and Word skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
A motivated, proactive, and organised approach with strong attention to detail.
