Job description

Bennett & Game are delighted to be partnering with a modern and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Stockport as they recruit for a trainee accountant to join their growing team. Offering up to £27,500, on-the-job training and development, study support, profit share bonus scheme, 26 days holiday, and a fun & collaborative modern office with excellent facilities.

This practice has grown significantly over the last 12 months and aims to continue its growth and expansion by onboarding an ambitious accountant. The ideal candidate is a graduate, or recently AAT qualified or part ACCA qualified. The successful candidate will work within a varied portfolio of clients, from sole traders to multi-million-pound corporations, with opportunities to train and develop their career in accountancy.

Job Overview

1. Take a customer 'lead' through a selling process to company set up.
2. Register the company for all relevant taxes.
3. Secure company information from clients each quarter for quarterly management accounts.
4. Prepare statutory year-end accounts accurately within three months of year-end.
5. Issue company accounts for director’s signature and ensure on-time filing at Companies House.
6. Timely preparation, delivery, and submission of Quarterly VAT returns.
7. Prepare PAYE/NI returns, issue to directors, and ensure on-time submission.
8. Compute corporation tax, make timely payments, and file CT600.

The minimum criteria include:

• Being AAT qualified or ACCA part qualified or an accounting & finance graduate.

• Detailed knowledge of SAGE accounts system or similar.
