Summary

We are currently looking for a Assistant Designer to join our Kidswear Team for Nightwear & Essentials. Ideally you will have a clear understanding of the M&S customer, and developing product that's right for them.

You will be part of a function that is responsible for delivering outstanding garment design across the Kidswear department. We are looking for someone who is passionate about design and willing to push the handwriting to the next level. You will work as part of an enthusiastic and fast paced team; delivering versatile, modern pieces in the perfect fit & fabric, which have been thoughtfully designed for everyday wear, comfort and effortless dressing.

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include

Use product knowledge to source images, compile and layout Design Product Strategy (DPS) boards, identifying relevant trends.

Research current and emerging trends, sharing ideas with the Design team to help ensure ranges are continually evolving and market leading.

Collaborate with the Designers to meet critical path deadlines and deliver the right designs, at the right time.

Support the Designer on producing a high standard of Tech pack and hit rate on Direct.

Create CAD's using photoshop / illustrator to show true representation of product for range reviews and PLM tech packs.

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

Expert in the field of design with design experience within the Retail industry

3D Experience - Clo sopftwear

Knowledge of trend interpretation, current competitive marketplace, and product design

Experience in briefing and specifying direct design sourced product, working with Technology/Design and Buying to create high standards of Tech Packs.

High level of proficiency in Design IT applications to optimise the quality of design work e.g., Photoshop, illustrator, CAD.
