Casual Leisure Attendant

£12.96 per hour

Are you ready for an exciting new challenge?

We require motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to work as part of our team. You will work on a Casual basis, as and when required, to cover annual leave and sickness. This could be your first step into a career in leisure.

Duties will include ensuring customer safety at all times, communicating effectively with members of the public and other staff, undertaking cleaning duties and setting up and dismantling of sports equipment in a safe environment and lifeguarding (where applicable).

You will be based at DG1. The leisure centre has 3 swimming pools and a health suite with sauna and steam room. A 6-court sports hall hosting a range of sports and activities, a large fitness suite, 2 fitness studios and a wellbeing area as well as meeting rooms available for hire.

You will assist in actively promoting DG1 and Leisure and Sport activities at all times.

Experience of working with the general public and customer care is essential and ideally you will have experience of working in leisure facilities.

What's more, for the right people - we will provide you with the necessary RLSS Pool Lifeguard Qualification for this job. Applicants will be required to pass the pre-course water competency assessment* and interview before being selected for the Pool Lifeguard Course. This is a unique opportunity where we will provide the right candidates with a Pool Lifeguard Qualification which is essential for this post. Please note, if selected, the course will run Monday 14 th July to Friday 18 th July at DG1, 8.30am - 5.30pm daily with exam on Saturday 19 th July 11am - 2pm. Full attendance is required.

Requirements

This post is subject to candidate vetting through Disclosure Scotland.

*water competency assessment criteria:

  • Jump/dive into deep water
  • Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
  • Swim 100 metres continuously on front
  • Swim 100 metres continuously on back
  • In deep water, tread water for 30 seconds
  • Surface dive to the floor of the pool
  • Climb out unaided without a ladder or steps where the pool design permits

You will be required to attend regular staff training sessions as part of the requirement of this post. This post will include shift work including evenings and weekends.
