The Insights team within Depop supports the entire business. Our analysts are embedded within Product and Marketing teams and are an integral part of making sure our business is as data-driven as possible.
We are currently looking for a Market and Audience Researcher to support our external research efforts. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Brand, and Strategy to design and conduct research into our markets, audiences, and users. This role primarily involves Quantitative research analysis, with opportunities to work on Qualitative projects as well.
Your objective would be to use a variety of primary and secondary research methods to stress test, validate, and complement the findings from our internal analysis, helping us extend our understanding of our business environment.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding user sentiment: Owning our regular internal feedback surveys and helping the business understand what's top of mind for our users. This includes advising on optimal data collection and sampling methodologies.
- Campaign support: Conducting primary research about our audience to help feed into creative briefs and marketing strategy, supporting the marketing team with creative testing.
- Business strategy: Supporting our Strategy team in shaping the future of Depop by designing and conducting primary quantitative research about our markets, audiences, and users, from questionnaire design through to data analysis.
- Data sourcing and integration: Identifying and sourcing appropriate secondary data points and research to supplement our internal data and primary research efforts, then combining them with relevant internal data to build a holistic understanding.
- Interpreting findings: Making recommendations based on the data collected.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of conducting impactful market research and translating data into clear findings and compelling narratives that inform decisions.
- Experience in conducting hands-on projects using quantitative research methods (e.g., designing and programming surveys).
- Some experience with qualitative research projects (e.g., interviews, focus groups).
- Ability to independently design, conduct, and synthesize research with minimal supervision.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to collaborate with analysts to link research findings with analytics.
- Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to build relationships with colleagues and users.

Bonus points if you have:
- Experience working in an in-house Insights or Analytics team.
- Proficiency in SQL.
