We are currently recruiting a Scientific Assistant to join the Analytical Development and Quality Control (ADQC) team. The purpose of this role is to provide essential laboratory activities and services to support the ADQC department.

Our Analytical Services Group supports product development through analytical testing to facilitate manufacturing and process development, ensuring appropriate quality controls and analytics.

Your responsibilities in this role would be:
  1. Perform routine monitoring of controlled temperature units within ASG CL2 laboratories.
  2. Raise engineering requests and chaperone engineers during servicing/repair of analytical instruments.
  3. Generate and review equipment files for basic equipment to meet GMP standards.
  4. Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.
  5. Calibrate pH meters and balances as required for analytical testing.
  6. Operate autoclaves and dispose of waste materials as needed.
  7. Perform stock checks of consumables, media, solutions, buffers used by scientists to ensure work continuity.
  8. Assist the team in ensuring CL2 laboratory suites meet regulatory compliance.
  9. Raise LMT work requests and assist the LMT if required.
  10. Assist in maintaining health and safety compliance in the CL2 laboratory environment.
We are looking for:
  • Level 2 - GCSE English and Maths.
  • Knowledge of efficient laboratory working practices.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and perform basic maths.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to challenge current practices and suggest improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with scientists and managers.
  • Organizational skills and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to listen to instructions and follow them.
  • Willingness to learn.
