Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: London, Watford or Chelmsford with regional travel

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

A renowned construction and civil engineering contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor or a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team in the South East to deliver high-quality construction and civil engineering projects across the UK.

Duties
  1. Managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects.
  2. Ensuring projects are completed within the projected budget.
  3. Providing financial and commercial advice to the project team.
  4. Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  5. Monitoring and controlling costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Identifying, analyzing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
  7. Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts.
  8. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Person Specification
  1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction or engineering sectors.
  2. Strong understanding of construction contracts, tender processes, and cost control mechanisms.
  3. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  5. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  6. Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  7. Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential.
