Qualifications

  • Fit and healthy; able to lift and carry breathing apparatus.
  • Previous maintenance experience in Semiconductor or similar industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Engineers with project work and take ownership of projects when qualified.

Equipment Maintenance Technician

Hours:

4 on 4 off continental shift (2 days 2 nights)

Job Description:

The following is not an exhaustive list, but a representation of the tasks to be undertaken:

  1. Complete routine preventative maintenance on MOVPE reactors and associated equipment with an aim to minimize downtime/process interruption during production shifts.
  2. Assist in exhaust filter/exhaust system and gas cylinder changes using self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
  3. Applicants must be fit and healthy, being able to lift and carry breathing apparatus on their back and pass a lung function test. Applicants are also required to be clean shaven for the use of breathing apparatus.
  4. Carry out electrical Portable Appliance Testing (Training will be provided).
  5. Chemicals, gases and spare parts control including chemical fills/delivery and waste management.
  6. Preparation work for preventative maintenance and system cleaning.
  7. Carry out/assist in repairs of processing and ancillary equipment.
  8. Assist Engineers with project work and, where/when qualified, take ownership of projects.
  9. Able to carry out a wide range of duties according to documented procedures without close supervision.
  10. Assist with logistical items, e.g. equipment relocation, cleanroom reorganisation, parts shipping, etc.
  11. Promotion of good teamwork between all areas.
Competencies:
  1. Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimum of supervision, when required, but to also thrive as a team player.
  2. Previous experience in general Maintenance or Engineering support would be advantageous, specifically in Semiconductor Related Equipment, or other similar industries – Pharma etc.
  3. Knowledge or qualifications of the following systems:
  • Pneumatic, Gas and Vacuum
  • Electro-Mechanical
  • Automation
  • SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus)
  • Basic understanding of Electrical Safety is required.
  • Willing to work overtime if required (May be needed during shutdowns/major maintenance).
  • Good communication skills – a good standard of written and spoken English is essential.
  • Ability to drive a forklift - training provided.
  • Must be computer literate, with experience of Microsoft Applications – Word, Excel, PPT etc.
